 Staff, presenting the Division with an opportunity for us to form a new Shared Governance Council that not only represents employees in the new employee classification, University Staff, but also those who are Classified Staff, both collectively referred to
 simply as Staff.  An Organizing Committee has been formed to help facilitate the formation of this new group.  </span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="paragraph" style="vertical-align:baseline"><span class="normaltextrun">This organizing committee is comprised of members who have served on a past CALS Shared Governance Council (e.g., Staff Council, Appointed Professionals Council) and/or represent

<p class="paragraph" style="vertical-align:baseline"><span class="normaltextrun">Our first step is to set up an initial organizational meeting and are requesting that, if possible, each Unit within ALVSCE Unit Head and School Director appoint one University
 Staff member to attend.  We are looking to start with a large representative base of Staff who are interested in learning more about joining this Shared Governance Council, becoming a part of Division Shared Governance, and getting involved in helping to make
 our Division and our College a great place to work.  Please note that what we are requesting is that one representative be able to attend this kick off meeting and then either continue or go back to their unit with more information to be able to recommend
 another Staff member to join this new Council.</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>

 for June 29, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.  The time commitment is 1.5 hours for this event, and if the employee you select decides to join the new Staff Council, the time commitment is no more than 4 hours per month.  We will then get in contact with them
