<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">campus: increase of 755 students relative to 2019 at this point in time. We have close to 7400 Freshmen, with good diversity.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:1.0in">80 students have dropped since the first day of class; Census day is the important marker.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">2700 transfer students: an all-time high.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">online: best year yet at 6245 students.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14.0pt">furlough:</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Although we are doing better than the Moderate Scenario modelled in the spring, we DO NOT KNOW yet if we are doing well enough to lessen the Furlough.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14.0pt">P/F grading:</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We believe Pass/Fail grading has helped retention; we don’t know how it may have impacted Learning.

<p class="MsoNormal">We encountered problems getting Pima Community College to accept our Spring grades because our undergraduate pass with a D while Pima’s students must have a C to pass. We negotiated it. If we go back to a P/F option, we will consider adding
an Intermediate-PASS to accommodate this.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><br>
<b><span style="font-size:14.0pt">Annual Performance Reviews:</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We are required to do annual reviews of faculty and administrators. New guidelines will be released soon by the Provost.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We anticipate changing Faculty APRs from evaluative (judgmental) to formative (guiding progress).<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Provost recognizes that EVERYONE has been impacted by COVID-19, with untenable workloads and schedules, and this will have to be taken into account in the 2020 APR process.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Student Course Surveys (SCS)—We will probably NOT use for APR 2020. We didn’t issue them in Spring 2020 and much of Fall will be Remote.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Suggest that Faculty generate their own periodic formative evaluations from students and then report that.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For online courses SCS should be done, as usual.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14.0pt">COVID-19:</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">UA had a large number of positives from dorms and Greek houses over the weekend: 150 new cases so far. The Babcock isolation dorm is full. 7 out of 26 Greek Houses have infections and we are asking those houses to quarantine. Also, we’re
putting added supervision in Babcock to insure students stay isolated.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:14.0pt">UA Libarary:</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Main Library is only open for pick up; the Science Library is open for occupancy.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">trend: Students wear masks when they enter; then take masks off.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Getting more stringent with repeat offenders and increasing monitoring.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt">Establishing at least 3 rooms on different parts of campus where students can go to study, in addition to tents and the Libraries, which are intended to help students with transitions between courses or switching
from in-person to an online course.<br>
