<div style="direction: ltr;">Cooperative Extension is central to the mission of the University of Arizona as a land grant institution. ABOR clearly directs the UA to address this fundamental land grant mission. The problem seems to be how various entities in
the university administration and perhaps ABOR, define land grant mission.</div>

<div style="direction: ltr;">Our case internally is to make it clear that Cooperative Extension is central to the land grant mission. We are working diligently on that as we have discussed with you all. If you have suggestions as to how we can better do that
with central administration I am glad to hear it. Bear in mind please that VP Burgess insists on being the person to deliver that message to the Provost and President on behalf of the Cooperative Extension system.

<div style="direction: ltr;">Otherwise, our main objective is to do our job and do it well. We must work with the resources we have and demonstrate clearly that we are a valuable and productive part of the UA.</div>
