Greetings, Extension Leaders!

I wanted to take a moment to make you aware of a project we’re initiating which will enable us to collect, analyze, and distribute workforce data to all our units. The goal is to provide Extension
Leaders, and other stakeholders, with the most-accurate Extension FTE allocations by program area and location, and have access to that data in real-time. It’s a very similar effort to the Map App initiative – however, the main difference with this initiative
is we’re soliciting the data from ALL employees, not just those in a Faculty role.

Having this data is critical as more and more requests for workforce data are being sought. They are being sought by funding agencies, government entities, and even within the University. We
also need this data for reporting and compliance, marketing efforts, hiring plans, and even just to simply audit and review ourselves.

You are receiving the very first notice of this initiative and the hope is that, when it’s rolled out globally, you will help encourage folks in your units to provide the data requested. We
plan to send out the link to the form by next week in a “phased” approach – I will send the link to approximately 5-7 units at a time and keep you informed as to when your unit/county will receive the link. Anyone with an Extension Appointment (approximately
600-620 University employees) will receive an auto-generated e-mail with the link. I’ll also be providing more communications and some FAQs on this effort as we progress.

Attached is an example e-mail everyone will receive as well as a quick video showing how to go in and enter data. It really is a quick action that should take no more than 2 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions about this initiative, please don’t hesitate to contact me via e-mail. Again, I’ll be sending out more information later and in to next week so as many of the 600+
personnel know to expect it.

Also, a big THANK YOU to Bill Brandau and Darcy Dixon for allowing me to pilot this initiative in Graham and Santa Cruz Counties! I’m confident I worked out all the kinks with their support. And Darcy even completed her pilot entry through
her phone! J
