This information is important to telling our story and helping various constituencies understand the value that our programs, grants, and activities bring to the state.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Attached is a Excel spreadsheet that the consulting firm has created to capture the information they feel is important. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Please know that we here in Extension administration plan to try and collect and document as much of this information as possible. For programs like 4-H, SNAP-Ed, EFNEP, First Things First, and others, it makes sense that we document this information centrally rather than asking each of you to do so county by county. Ed, Linda and I will also create a model of how such a spreadsheet might be filled on a program so you can see what information should be included. We plan to have that example ready sometime after the new year.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>However, there may be programs, grant-funded projects and other activities that are unique to your county that need to be included because they create an economic impact in terms of hiring staff, program coordinators, purchasing equipment or other impacts. You will be able to use the attached spreadsheet.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Information will be not needed until January 30, 2012. Please enjoy your holidays and the New Year, and work on your APROLs, and then we can focus on this information. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>It is vital that we tell the story of Extension’s impact in concrete, documentable terms especially as it relates to adding value to the economy. If you don't have a number for some questions, you could also describe the data in a way that would enable the consultants to find a metric. Please also note that one of the major intents of this work is to identify how much money we are bringing in from OUTSIDE the UA system, and especially outside the state, and the impact of this on the local (city/county/state) economy. So, we need to only document those funding sources where the money originates outside the state.
