Hi Ed,
I am getting ready to open registration for Cu at the Mine! 2026 and would like to be sure I have enough spaces for our County Extension agents. Have you figured out any of the HR/FSO details about them attending the academy as training this summer in order to help us facilitate across the state next year?

Thanks,
Dan

I have the list. I am just wondering about the financial aspects. For instance, if the agents are full time employees of the University, then a week at Cu at the Mine! for training in the summer of 2026 would be part of their salary, right? Can we even give them a stipend for attending if they don't take PTO? Would we need to reimburse the extension for their pay for the weeks of training this year and the weeks delivering the program in 2027? Those are the costs I need to include in our proposal to the Arizona Mining Association. It might be easier to discuss these questions in a meeting. What do you both think?

Dan

Don,

I do not have a list. I think we left it to those interested to let Taylor know. But I don’t know how many raised their hands. We may have to send out another email to nail down names and times.

Taylor, do you have any information?

Ed

Subject: Cu at the Mine! Extension Agent Pay

Hi Taylor and Ed,

I need to finish the funding proposal for our expansion of the Cu at the Mine! teacher academy program throughout the state using the County Extension Program. Have either of you heard anything about how we would go about paying the agents both for their training this summer (2026) and their facilitation responsibilities in the summer of 2027 and beyond. We have five counties that have committed to participating, so I would like to get their agents enrolled for this summer before I open registration to the general public.

Thanks,

Dan
