Good morning! The Southwest Center for Resilience in Climate Change and Health (SCORCH) has the following opportunities for UA Faculty:

  1.  Participation in a brief survey to gauge interest in climate and health research and explore opportunities to collaborate across campus (https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0oJaOYk4cUp6PCm).
  2.  Two types of Pilot Awards (one Research and one Community Focused) with funding up to $25,000. Deadline is 10/25/24 (see attached).

SCORCH Climate and Health Survey (UA Researchers) and Call For Proposals (Pilot Project Awards)

The Southwest Center for Resilience in Climate Change and Health (SCORCH)<https://scorch.arizona.edu/> is reaching out to the University of Arizona community to request members' participation in a brief survey to gauge interest in climate and health research and explore opportunities to collaborate across campus. Please take a few moments to respond to this brief survey<https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0oJaOYk4cUp6PCm> that will help shape SCORCH's research agenda and identify promising collaboration opportunities that may lead to meaningful contributions to public health and climate. (Note: users must log into UA WebAuth to access the survey.)

Additional SCORCH Opportunities: Call for Proposals for Pilot Projects

  *   A. Research Focus - This call aims to address the urgent challenges posed by climate change and its impact on health in arid lands, including the Arizona-Sonora Desert region and other arid regions globally. Please see Attachment A for the announcement and submission guide.
  *   B. Community Focus - This call is for community organizations to pilot projects implementing solutions that may mitigate the challenges posed by climate change and its impact on health in arid lands.  Proposals for Community Pilot Projects are submitted via an online application<https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2ht1JaxKVFUREs6> that replicates the fields listed in Attachment B. It is recommended that applicants first complete the sections in this document from which responses can be copied and pasted into the online application. Note that the timeline and budget sections are to be submitted using the provided Microsoft Excel spreadsheet template, uploading them to the online application<https://uarizona.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2ht1JaxKVFUREs6>. Proposals for both calls are due by Friday, October 25, 2024, 11:59PM MST. Funding up to $25,000 will be provided for twelve-month pilot projects (period of performance: January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025).
