SUBJECT:                   Thank You to David Galbraith, and Call for Nominations for Interim School Director



I want to thank Interim Director David Galbraith for leading your School of Plant Sciences over the past 15 months. His last day as Interim Director is Friday, January 5. Please join me in thanking David for his distinguished service to your school and our college.



I must appoint an Interim Plant Sciences director without delay. Please email Associate Dean for Faculty Advancement Jean McLain (mclainj at arizona.edu) with your nominees by noon on Thursday, January 4.



Nominations must include the name and contact information for the nominee, with rationale for the nomination. Please ensure, before submitting the nomination, that the nominee consents to be nominated and state that you have their consent in the nomination. Self-nominations are welcome. Nominees must be of full rank with tenure or continuing status.



As you are aware, the search for the next permanent school director is on hold due to the current UA-mandated hiring freeze. I will provide you more specific information as I have it.
