[CED/CD/EAT] Answers to 3 CEU-Related Questions

Good afternoon - While I don't have any new CEU courses to add to last week's list, I do have answers to three questions I've received in the last few days. I thought the answers might interest others, as well.

Question 1: When and where will the Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) provide their annual recertification/CEU courses for agricultural certified applicators and PCAs?

Answer: I recently heard the Arizona Department of Agriculture will present their annual recertification/CEU courses online this year. They're in the agenda and date planning stages. As soon as I have more details, I'll send the information through this listserv.

Question 2: I need to renew my agricultural Private Applicator Certification (PUP) before December 31st. How many CEUs do I need to renew?

Answer:

  *   Private Applicators (PUPs) need 3 CEUs each year to renew their certification. If you were successful in getting 6 CEUs this year, you have the option to renew for 2 years. Your renewal form will have the check boxes for each option (1 year or 2 years) and the associated renewal fees.
  *   Commercial Applicators (PUCs) need 6 CEUs each year, which would be 12 CEUs for the 2-year renewal option.
  *   Pest Control Advisors (PCAs) need 15 CEUs for a 1-year renewal and 30 CEUs to renew for 2 years.

Question 3: We want to present a CEU course and heard there is a new application form for course sponsors/providers. Where can I find a copy?

Answer: I attached the new form to this email to make it a little easier for you. If after reviewing it you have questions about the form, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be happy to answer your questions or refer you to someone at the AZDA who will be able to assist you. After completing the form, email it to ceus at azda.gov<mailto:ceus at azda.gov>   Ernie Lugo will review/approve the applications from people who want to provide agricultural CEU courses and Olga Zuniga will review/approve the applications from people who want to provide structural (PMD) CEU courses.
