[CED/CD/EAT] Memo to employees explaining your merit process

Hi, all:

As a reminder from my email dated March 31, A new requirement for this year is for each of you to copy me in on your internal-unit communication you send to your employees which outlines how you will be assessing merit by Friday, April 7, 2023. This is in response and in collaboration with faculty and staff council concerns that were agreed upon earlier this month.

Can you please forward to me a copy of the communication you sent out if you haven't already done so?  If you are looking for words, here's an example below:

I want to notify you all about the salary increases that will be given to all eligible ALVSCE employees starting July 1st, 2023. All eligible employees who have been actively employed since August 15th, 2022 will be getting a 3.5% salary increase. In addition to that, 33% of our faculty and staff are eligible for a 2.5% merit increase. I will be making recommendations on merit increases based on your work performance over the last couple of years. Following conversations with supervisors and reviewing your last couple of annual performance evaluations, I will be considering things like work productivity, work quality, professionalism, customer service (internal and external), collegiality, teamwork, and professional development when I make my recommendations for merit increases. Those receiving merit increases will be notified once my recommendations are approved. I will be available and willing to discuss the decision on merit increases once the final approvals have been made.
