The UA Urban Ag/Beginner Farmer Program has three great events planned in March and April. I've included information about two in-person events and a webinar below.
Farm Field Day at Agritopia: Join the University of Arizona Extension for a hands-on farming experience at Agritopia on March 16th from 8:30-12:30. You will get the chance to shadow a farm team for the morning and then have an in-depth Q&A session where you can learn directly from the farm team and NRCS representatives. Preregistration is required. Register here<https://t.e2ma.net/click/wxsbjwi/ozw9a6xg/wtpqpy9c>. Navigating Farm Financial Resources Webinar: Ever felt overwhelmed or confused looking through governmental program pages while you were looking for available loans, grants, and other financial resources? There are so many programs out there designed to help you, but sometimes it might be hard to figure out where to look first. Join the webinar from UA Extension and representatives from NRCS and FSA as we go over how to navigate their websites and find the resources you need to have a successful farm. Email Taylor La Ravia at taylorlaravia at arizona.edu<mailto:taylorlaravia at arizona.edu> for more info and with any questions.
Agricultural Field Talk: Join the University of Arizona Extension for an IN-PERSON outdoor seminar. Experts from the University of Arizona Extension will present on information such as record keeping, pesticide safety (including organics), plant pathology, soil health, and weed control. Come meet and learn from the experts. Date is still TBD, so keep your eyes open for more information coming soon!
Email Taylor La Ravia at taylorlaravia at arizona.edu<mailto:taylorlaravia at arizona.edu> with any questions.
If you would like to receive frequent updates about the Urban and Beginner Farmer Program, please send an email to Taylor La Ravia, taylorlaravia at arizona.edu<mailto:taylorlaravia at arizona.edu> She has an e-newsletter chock-full of great information and I'm sure she would be happy to add you to her listserv.
