Hi, Ed:

Here are my responses:

  1. Are you struggling to deliver on missions one way or another because of clinical COVID illness so severe - meaning that people literally can't work?

The Yavapai County Offices have been closed to the public since 1/12/22 and will probably remain closed until 1/31/22 due to community health concerns. Staff are all able to work remotely and continue to deliver on the missions. One person at a time can be in the office and the meeting room is not available. That said, there are no challenges due to severe COVID illness of CES employees. There are other challenges such as childcare centers and schools not allowing outsiders in to do training or educational programs. Another is an individual's preference for in-person training or assistance with using a computer. In-person training has been postponed.

  1. Are you hearing of a lot of CES employees with SARS COV2 positive tests (i.e., SARS COV2 infection) who are required to take isolation/quarantine periods? Please include your definition of "a lot".

  * Two staff members out of 11 and their immediate families have tested positive and were isolated/quarantined. This is 18% and I do not consider that "a lot". I would define a lot as 33% or more.

  1. Are you hearing of a lot of CES employees with SARS COV2 negative tests who are required to take isolation/quarantine periods because of familial exposure? Please include your definition of "a lot."

  * My definition of "a lot" is 33%. In both cases in B., the individuals originally tested negative and quarantined and later tested positive.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks,
Patty

Subject: [CED/CD/EAT] Question from admin

Dear Directors and ADs:

I was sent an email with some questions about COVID's impact on Extension programs, and I thought I would do a quick canvas to see if any of you had some input.

The questions are:

  1. Are you struggling to deliver on missions one way or another because of clinical COVID illness so severe - meaning that people literally can't work?
  2. Are you hearing of a lot of CES employees with SARS COV2 positive tests (i.e., SARS COV2 infection) who are required to take isolation/quarantine periods? Please include your definition of "a lot".
  3. Are you hearing of a lot of CES employees with SARS COV2 negative tests who are required to take isolation/quarantine periods because of familial exposure? Please include your definition of "a lot."

I will need to answer by the end of the day. My take is that there are a few instances but not what I would call a lot.

Let me know if you have any input on this.

Ed
