Hi Jeff,

This is a paper that Robert Bonnie (just nominated to serve as an USDA Under Secretary again) and others wrote last year addressing rural attitudes and environmental policy making. Chuck Podolak sent along to me. Chuck and I worked with Bonnie while at Flake’s Office and I hosted him in AZ a few times.


Anyways, one of this conclusions is that policy makers, environmentalists, conservation groups, and other decision makers should highly consider engaging more with cooperative extension folks in conjunction with farmers/ranchers as a positive tool to reach policy objectives. He sees, as we all do, the cooperative extension as a hugely valuable tool and resource and one that could play an even greater role in the public policy sphere.  I just thought it may be of interest.
