[CED/CD/EAT] Overnight 4-H Program Policy Approval

Good Afternoon,

I am excited to share that we have received approval for our Arizona 4-H Overnight Programming 2021 Protocol form UArizona-ICS. Please use the attached document for your planning purposes. Sandra Saad will contact you in the coming week(s) to address contracts. If you are going to be holding overnight camping experiences away from James 4-H Camp (i.e. Grapachlee or Pine Combs) please use the intent of the law in this document, as some aspects are designed specifically for James 4-H Camp. For additional advice please reach out to me.

As of today, you can share that summer camping programs will happen in person. However, remember, that we are still navigating an unpredictable global pandemic.  Please use "*Contingent to ongoing public health recommendations and the UACE Phased Operational Plan" on all promotion.

In addition to the great news about Camping protocol, I will also share that Dan Tomlinson has stepped into the important role of On-Site Manager for James 4-H Camp during this summer. We have posted for a full-time temporary Maintenance support and for a Camp Nurse. These positions will ensure you are receiving the same level of support you have come to expect from James 4-H Camp. We are also happy to welcome back The Natural Healing Garden as our caterer. However, this year you will only have one contract.

Today, we celebrate!  On Monday we start planning for high-quality youth engagement opportunities at James 4-H Camp and other overnight camping this summer.

P. S. To be clear, this does mean that J.O.L.T. Camp will be in person this summer.
