Hello. The attached document contains information about the Guayule Field Day - a virtual event that will be delivered on Thursday, October 15th.

Blasé Evancho of UA Cooperative Extension in Pima and Pinal Counties sent the following description about the event, which was approved for 3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Arizona agricultural certified applicators (PUPs, PUCs, and PUGs) and Pest Control Advisors (PCAs).

"This year the collaboratively-supported Guayule Field Day will be held virtually on Thursday, October 15th. While we won't actually be in the field, we will be discussing the exciting breakthroughs in the field of guayule production. Bridgestone researchers will give us updates on the future of guayule and agronomic improvements being made to grow the crop. University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Entomologist Dr. Peter Ellsworth will discuss strategies for controlling early season insect pests of this desert shrub. SBAR research on weed control during guayule establishment and guayule crop budgets and economic farm analysis will round out the program. We invite everyone interested in desert agriculture to join our Zoom meeting and learn more about this intriguing crop and how it could soon be part of your crop rotation."
