Good afternoon Shane and CALS Executive Council,

I have attached the notes taken during my meetings with the CALS early-career faculty last week.

Though some of the questions/concerns raised should not be surprising, there are some valid (and unique) statements that echo concerns of POPs about classroom safety and transitioning to online teaching. There is also a lot of concern about the promotion clock.

Some of the questions/concerns should be addressed at the unit level, I think (e.g., the questions related to the annual promotion calendar) but I'm not yet sharing this with unit heads. If you think that some of these points should be discussed at the 11:00 am meetings next week, please let me know and I'll share this with the unit heads - or feel free to forward it to them on your own.
