Message from the Director
Happy Holidays from the Arizona 4-H team to you and your families this December. This year our holidays will look and feel differently, just like this past year has been. As I reflect on Arizona 4-H in 2020, I am proud of the work that 4-H professionals and volunteers have done to ensure 4-H programming continues. The programming we see is different, not the same, yet it continues to support young people to engage in learning, turning sparks into mastery.
I am also very proud of the Arizona 4-H State Ambassador team . These seven teen youth were selected and have served year, virtually. This past weekend, they even put on a leadership conference, Emerging Leadership Experience, with nearly 50 youth in attendance (ages 11-13) from across the state.
As we head into 2021, COVID-19 continues to threaten the health and wellness of our 4-H youth, families, volunteers, and communities. I hope that in this season of giving will encourage your club to support those in our 4-H communities that are in economic need, who are suffering losses of loved ones, and who are struggling due to the continued stress. Let's not forget that it is important to pledge our hands to larger service and our head to clearer thinking, and continue to address the challenges in our community.
I wish you a very merry holiday season and a Happy New Year!

Take Aim on Arizona 4-H College Scholarships
The Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation Scholarship Application will be available through ZingBooks on January 4, 2021 and will be due to the Foundation no later than April 1, 2021. This is a change from past years, both with the dates and being completely digital. The application itself is still the same and applicants will need two references – one from a 4-H leader/4-H Professional and the other from a non 4-H person. The applicant will also need to include a transcript. Please check with your local Extension Office for any deadlines specific to your county. For questions, please contact the AZ 4-H Foundation Scholarship Chair, AZ4-HYF Scholarship Applications (mailto:norquest at email.arizona.edu?subject=AZ4-HYF%20Scholarship%20Applications).
All college aged 4-H youth and recent alumni are eligible for Arizona 4-H Youth Foundation scholarships. Perennial youth miss out on scholarships because they do not apply, please encourage the youth in your club that are college age or recently aged out to apply.
