Yes – we will figure out how, somehow. This is vitally important to our employees around the state.

Stacey – would you please share your thoughts to us all on a good process for our employees who work in remote sites around AZ to be able to SUBMIT reimbursement requests for COVID-19 testing in their nearby areas to us? Separately – would you please think about how best to manage the accounting of these out-of-pocket health care costs as reimbursable items? My objective is to ensure that remote employees can enjoy the same free test capabilities that we have in TUS and PHX.

Thanks all!

Regards,

Liesl

Good afternoon Liesl, you once mentioned the UArizona would reimburse remote site employees who paid for the COVID-19 testing. There are alternative sites as you can see from the attachment that we put together and shared with Cooperative Extension, but some of these places charge. If some of these places do not accept insurance, can employees pay and be reimbursed by the UArizona? Saludos, Cecilia

Cecilia,

Thank you for your attention to this.

The listings provide some good alternative sites but when personnel try to register, they are asked if UA is paying for the testing or their health insurance. That is a consistent problem that is being encountered.

Do they use their employee ID or their health insurance information? The implication is that the UA is paying but that is not clear at the alternative sites.

Also, many Extension personnel report that it is more preferable to them to use an alternative site like a CVS that has drive up testing and it is easier for many of them to use. Alternatively, if they go to a lab and sit in a waiting room, there may be a greater risk of exposure. They do not like that and I am hearing about that from several counties.

I can also tell you that in many counties, some of the personnel and the CEDs, need very clear and explicit instructions.

What do you and the corps of super brilliant health educators suggest? ☺

I sincerely appreciate your assistance.

Otra vez, muchas gracias por todo.

Saludos,

Jeff

P.S.

An example of a failed registration at a CVS in Maricopa, AZ (Pinal Co.):

We're sorry, you do not qualify for sponsored testing at this time.
Each organization determines its own criteria for testing.
Some reasons you may not qualify:
· You've already had all of your allotted testing
· Your role, risk level, contract or employment status do not meet your organization's current criteria
· Your organization no longer offers testing
If you think this might be an error:
Try again and make sure the information you entered is correct or contact the representative that provided you with information about the sponsored testing program.

Honestly Jeff, and I did mention this to the leadership, CVS and Walgreens will only schedule if they check off all of the symptoms. And I say, honestly😊. Let me see what other services are available in Yavapai. I’ve copied my super brilliant Health Educators that have compiled these resources in case they can provide additional insight. Cecilia

Cecilia,

FYI.. please note the comment from CED Jeff Schalau in Prescott, Yavapai County.

What should they do?

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

When I try to use CVS as a provider, it still says I’m not eligible. Is there some other wording we need to be aware of?

CEDs,

Please be sure to work with personnel in your units to find the best sites for testing in your areas.

Dr. Cecilia Rosales has provided a set of primary UA testing sites (Mapa attached) and a set of alternative sites (attached) if the UA sites are not the most easily accessible for your personnel. Please refer to these references to find the possible sites.

Please communicate and work with personnel in your units to find the best testing sites for them.

I appreciate your cooperation with this.

Best regards,

Jeff

Cecilia,

Thank you very much for your response to Greeta and for providing this update. I assume you are sharing with Greeta and others like this the same list of alternative sites that you shared with me earlier and we dealt with this past week as well.

Every county Extension office has a director, analogous to a dept. head in an academic unit on a campus. I have sent all of this information to the County Extension Directors (CED), such as Hattie Braun in Coconino County, and it is their responsibility to communicate the information to personnel in their units. The same is true for Greeta in Pinal County.

I will share this with the Pinal CED and all of the others as well in an effort to reinforce this point.

Thanks again for your work on this and for keeping me posted.

Best regards,

Jeff

Buenas tardes Jeremy and Jeffrey. I responded to Greeta Mills about her testing needs and provided alternative sites. You may want to send these to others in Pinal County that may need alternative sites for testing. See Greeta’s email and my response. Saludos, Cecilia

Hi Greeta, is it difficult to travel to Phoenix for PCR testing? We have plenty of openings tomorrow morning and afternoon as well as on Monday and Tuesday next week.

The Antibody testing you can receive at Sun Life Family Health Center in Casa Grande. The link to the statewide testing is the following: https://covid19antibodytesting.arizona.edu/. Select Educator and schedule date and time.

Horizon Health and Wellness will be offering two different tests this Saturday, August 29 at their Casa Grande clinic for COVID-19 testing day.

Anyone can sign up to take one or both tests. The COVID-19 Swab test is a viral test that tells you if you have a current infection. The Antibody test is a blood test that tells you if you previously had the infection.

You must register to get tested and can do so by following this link: http://www.hhwaz.org/covid-19-testing-registration/ or For more information you can visit Horizon Health and Wellness website at: www.hhwaz.org.<https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hhwaz.org%2F%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR00QztlawEMyNfRBj5dDzhAkn1ZmGDZ1uDCwXNUyFQ912TzH1ZIbpvyN-Q&h=AT0adAtg5qCBpGl7Eiz0BkgErbntQmRm3svzKr2y5fbKeMaIKz5bqYW-M9h1nm-gWd7nOOn8EEoW2O0BzfyGv7SHGT4zUe2MQXj7176jcfN5Kuu2rPZXbDAeyDLqvk_PUEO2&__tn__=-UK-R&c%5b0%5d=AT2v7l5iUoGJ5NhZPsBPEhGysxptrPOGLUtGLG24zBb5ZGXHd9NCF5vWfgEexba_qvaZE6PZknL_mFJ9JkeLBUXnkWoNCq6BkJ4CeVgulR-nqVBzqcCqtmggbqRLqcEPoMgCskixxqHCwpq6sGnQPcEjFF11hXCIUkgKk7S0mhPVJgv01D-9-pqq99Rf2t8>

Hi Dr. Rosales,

I attempted to register today for testing at my local CVS, which was on the provided list, and was unable to do so. The reason was "do not qualify for sponsored testing", and then a list of possible reasons none of which apply to me.

Is UArizona paying for the testing, or are we to run it through our insurance?

Thanks.
