COVID-19 Pilot Project Funding

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is seeking proposals for pilot research projects focusing on basic or applied science or technology that direclty addresses critical issues related to COVID-19. Projects should have the potential for rapid impact and/or to provide preliminary data for submission of external grant proposals. All personnel and major infrastructure should already be in place so that projects can begin immediately once funding is awarded. Projects can be up to six months in duration with a maximum budget of $30,000. Proposals of shorter duration with smaller budgets are welcome and encouraged.
ELIGIBILITY
The PI must be a Tenure Track/Continuing or Career Track faculty member with a primary research appointment in CALS.
PROPOSAL FORMAT
Provide the following in two pages or less:

  *   Signficance and Potential Impact
  *   Plan of Work
  *   Summary of Deliverables/Outcomes
  *   External grant mechanisms targeted if appropriate (list of current funding opportunities is here: https://research.arizona.edu/covid19/call-for-expertise<https://t.e2ma.net/click/xs8tyc/lv60cw/1zshl0>)

BUDGET
Provide a one page budget with enough detail to demonstrate that the requested funds are adequate and justified. Funds may be provided for:

  *   Supplies and small equipment
  *   Student and staff time
  *   Core facility fees

Please also provide a brief biosketch for the PI and any Co-PIs
