Recognizing that high-quality and innovative leadership is essential for the University of Arizona to achieve its aspirations, I am very pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the tenth cohort of the Academic Leadership Institute.

This program demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the capacity of current and emerging leaders, and has been recognized as a national model. The Institute provides a year-long series of workshops, individual self-assessments, and collaborative discussions led by national experts in the area of leadership development. Full-day workshops are complemented by morning programs with University leaders.

Since its launch in 2010, over 220 faculty, appointed professionals, department heads, senior administrators, and campus leaders have attended the Institute and have praised the program in the highest possible terms. A significant number of Institute fellows have been tapped to lead key projects and promoted into new leadership roles, and many point to the Institute as opening these new opportunities.

Applications are due March 31, 2019 and must include a letter of recommendation from a writer who can speak to applicants’ leadership potential.
