[CED/CD/EAT] Call for FY20 Merit Nominations, Faculty, Staff, Appointed Professionals

Academic Unit Heads, CEDs, AES Superintendents/Directors, Admin Cabinet,

CALS and CES have set aside annual merit performance funding for faculty since 2011.  Based on a request from Academic Unit Heads, a budget pool approximating 18.5% of employees was set aside to meet the anticipated merit requests.  This amounts to an average increase of $2,900 for those in the 18.5% pool.

Note that this is the inaugural year staff and AP employees are able to participate in a merit process that mirrors the faculty process.

Merit is defined as:

*         Consistent performance at a high level relative to discipline peers.  Merit must be demonstrable such as through APR scores or evidence provided in Career Conversations.

Eligibility

Only CALS and Cooperative Extension employees funded from operational base funding are eligible.  Approved adjustments will be prorated by FTE and fund source.

Salary adjustments for soft-funded employees are at the discretion of the PI or unit leader who oversees the funds and can occur at any time.

Process

Ranked nominations will be accepted through 5pm, April 12, 2019.  Nominations sent after this date will not be considered.  Complete the Merit Increase Form<https://compass.arizona.edu/dbs/policies/compensation-adjustments> along with a brief memo of justification.  Email the completed materials to: hr at cals.arizona.edu<mailto:hr at cals.arizona.edu>.  Funding is limited and this is a competitive process.

Approved requests will become effective on either the first day of the FY20 fiscal year or the AY20 academic year, depending on the employee's contract status.
