Fellow Directors,

Here are a few notes from our CALS Faculty Council.


  1.  There was a lot of discussion between formats for communication with the Administration of the Division.  The Town Halls and Dial a Dean do not seem all that well attended.  The Faculty Council will continue to work on improving communication with the admin. team
  2.  Last college survey is still a source of debate (at all levels) and each unit is expected to develop a plan to address their specific issues.
  3.  The Faculty Council believes we are all "surveyed out" and would like to alternate surveys with a survey for staff one year, then faculty the next, then staff, then faculty, etc.  We will continue to have discussions with ALVSCE Admin. concerning this.  I received a report that we were not going to have a 2019 survey this year.
  4.  Some POPs are realizing the compensation and workload disparity across the college.

The Faculty Council will continue to work with ALVSCE Administration to address faculty and staff concerns.

Our next meeting will be March 11.  Please let me know if you have any issues.
