[CED/CD/EAT] CALS Faculty Council

Dear CEDs,

 

As a Faculty Senator, I have to honor of also serving on the CALS Faculty
Council.  The Council met for the first time for FY18.  Below is a summary:

 

 

Gayatri Vedantam (School of ACBS) assumed the role of Council Chair, after
serving as Vice Chair last year.  The committee then nominated and approved
Marc Joel Orbach (School of Plant Sciences) as the new Vice Chair.  

 

There was some discussion on assuring we have representation from all
departments as well as a county Extension representative.  I let them know
we had sent out ballots and an official County Extension representative
would be identified soon.

 

There will be a town hall meeting on September 22nd with the entire CALS
Executive Council (EC).  The meeting is sponsored by the Faculty Council.
Information on the Town Hall was is last week's CALS Bulletin (see below).
We have been asked to solicit questions for the town hall.  Attached is the
form they would like used.  Please send your questions to me by September
18th and I will forward them on.  You can also forward your question to Dr.
Gayatri Vedantam (gayatri at email.arizona.edu
<mailto:gayatri at email.arizona.edu> ), chair of the faculty council.  All
submissions will be kept confidential.

FACULTY COUNCIL TOWN HALL WITH CALS EXECUTIVE COUNCIL, SEPT. 22 

Please mark your calendars for a Town Hall with the CALS Executive Council,
hosted by the CALS Faculty Council.

To engender discussion on a range of topics relevant to all CALS members,
the Faculty Council requests submission of questions in advance. All CALS
employees are encouraged to do so since the entrie Executive Council will be

members/Chairs, or to Dr. Vedantam, Chair, Faculty Council

will be moderated by Faculty Council members.
