Dear Colleagues:

The Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program (BFRDP) of USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture is seeking stakeholder input to inform the development of its 2018 Request for Applications (RFA).

The annual stakeholder input webinar will be 2:00-3:30pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, May 31st, 2017.  You may join the webinar (first-come, first-served) at:

New this year we have also scheduled a Twitter Chat for stakeholder feedback! The Twitter Chat is June 7, 2017 from 2:00 - 2:30 pm Eastern Time. You may participate in the chat using:

If you cannot join the webinar or Twitter chat, your comments are welcome in writing to bfrdp at nifa.usda.gov<mailto:bfrdp at nifa.usda.gov>, or by email to me Desiree Rucker - Ross at desiree.rucker at nifa.usda.gov<mailto:desiree.rucker at nifa.usda.gov> .  Input is welcome any time, but requested by June 30 to be most useful for the 2018 RFA.

The 2017 RFA is available on the NIFA web site.  It would be most helpful if stakeholders would read it as background for comments on improvements for next year.  See the RFA link at:  https://nifa.usda.gov/funding-opportunity/beginning-farmer-and-rancher-development-program-bfrdp

Also, if you would like to be kept apprised of BFRDP program news, consider joining the email listserv that has been set up by the BFRDP national clearinghouse, Farm Answers, run by the University of Minnesota if you are not already signed up.
