Subject: Re-asserting the bar for business in CALS

Business Officers of CALS,

Business operations can be a mission enabler or a mission disabler.  We don't have to be in the classroom, lab, or field to have an impact on the achievement of our mission.  Each of us, through our daily actions, attitude, management, innovation, and engagement determines the success of the University of Arizona.

As CALS Business Officers, we have chosen to embrace business efficiency and effectiveness as necessary to achieve the strategic intent and maximize the impact of the College, and to fulfill our duty with professionalism, stewardship, ethics and integrity, mastery of work, and in support of the mission of the institution..

The fiscal year is drawing to an end.  It is good to reflect on the expectations of a business officer in CALS and start the new year with renewed purpose.  The document below was created with input from business officers and unit leaders back in 2013.  It still serves as a founding and guiding standard.

Expectations on each of us is high, and they should be.  We enable the people's university.
