Good Morning All,

We are happy to announce the 'Faculty Profile' dashboard, a new tool in UAccess Analytics designed for university executives to track faculty activity. Directly supporting the synergy pillar within the university's strategic plan Never Settle, the new dashboard leverages employment, tenure, teaching, financial, research and publication data from across campus systems and presents it in one easy-to-access tool.

'Faculty Profile' is broken down into two basic sections. The first is designed to relay key measures of faculty activity across the top of the tool in the form of eight tiles or snapshots of data. In the second section, color is used to connect each tile to a more detailed explanation or brief history of each snapshot. This section is customized for each faculty member so that detailed explanations are displayed only when there are details to share. For example, if a faculty member has not taught any classes during the time period chosen by the user, his or her dashboard will include a tile that says '0 Average SCH' and not include additional detail down below.

In addition to providing a quick snapshot of teaching activity, 'Faculty Profile' also includes the following data:

*       Employment Information (Primary title, tenure status, all positions and their associated salaries)
*         Total Institutional Base Salary @ FTE (Current and historical, by fiscal year)
*         Student Credits Hours (Average and total by fiscal year)
*         Research Expenditures and Modified Total Direct Costs (Average and total by fiscal year)
*         Publications and Citations (Total by calendar year)
*         Currently Assigned NASF (By PI and Occupant)
*         Number of Active Sponsored Awards and Pending Proposals (As PI and Co-I)

'Faculty Profile' will be the first of a series of new tools available only to a select group through the use of a new 'BI-Executive' access role in Analytics. All employees who receive this message will automatically be given this new level of access as part of the rollout process. Due to the somewhat sensitive nature of the information provided in this tool, it is also important to add that only university employees with 'President', 'Provost', or 'Dean' in their primary title will have access to this dashboard. Department Heads will be provisioned through a different role, as they are not included in the new BI-Executive role.

We encourage users to take a moment to review the tool for themselves, using this link. Upon initially accessing the new dashboard, users will likely notice the aesthetic appeal and intuitive nature of the tool. 'Faculty Profile' ushers in a new UAIR initiative to move forward with a greater emphasis on user interface and experience. We are hopeful that this dashboard provides a simple, straight-forward overview that will support both trend analysis and decision making processes for all users within their respective areas of responsibility.
