[CED/CD/EAT] CALS Faculty Council

Dear Colleagues,

 

As a member of the Faculty Senate, I am also privileged to serve on the CALS
Faculty Council.  The CALS Faculty Council provides a forum within the
shared governance structure to identify and discuss issues of concern to the
Faculty, with due consultation with the Faculty and Dean.  Furthermore, the
council shall provide advice or recommendations to the Faculty and the Dean
on proposed actions.  

 

Our next meeting will be at the end of October and I wanted to send an open
invitation to all faculty to send me issues or concerns that they would like
the council to discuss.  Please do your best to explain the issue and
perhaps even recommend solutions or at the least, the impact this issue is
having.  Don't send me "We need higher salaries!" - explain what higher
salaries will do for the College and the consequence of not addressing the
issue.  Also, if there is something that is working especially well for your
department or office, I would like to hear that too.  

 

I thank you all in advance for participating in this endeavor.  Here at the
University of Arizona we are fortunate to have a shared governance system
and I applaud the Dean and the College for actively participating in this
system.
