That is a good idea. I also thought about giving some to our Extension Board Members to distribute to friends. Thanks for the MG idea, we have a meeting next week.

Dear all,
I was wondering if it is acceptable to give a survey to our volunteers (Master Gardener, SNAP-Ed (some of our school contacts), etc.) and ask them to find one or two people perhaps in their neighborhood and have them fill out the surveys. Since our programs are throughout the county, that might work? It would be a fairly good representation?
Just an idea.
Ed

Darcy and team,
Have any of you figured out a good way to do the paper and pencil surveys? I have been trying to find a good approach so that I could request funding assistance if needed and not having much luck. We contacted Robert Carreira who is the Director for the Center for Economic Research at Cochise College in Sierra Vista because he does a lot of surveying for Cochise County and other areas. I thought maybe we could hire his team to do the collections. He said that they don't do many surveys anymore, and those they do they have moved to online. He said back several years ago when they did in-person or even telephone interviews, it was extremely difficult to find people willing to do them.
So I am concerned that if "trained" collectors have difficulty then can we realistically get 100 surveys, particularly in smaller counties. So I am looking for suggestions on groups any of you have found that are willing to assist with the data collection.
Also Darcy - the paper and pencil survey said draft on it. Do you have a final version?
Thanks for any suggestions. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Susan
