[CED] 1885 Society Distinguished Scholar nominations

President Hart is offering the 1885 Society Distinguished Scholar award 
to acknowledge outstanding mid-career faculty who are making major 
contributions to their disciplines and the university.Eligible 
candidates will be faculty with tenure or continuing status, with 
priority given to those candidates of exceptional promise at the 
associate rank who have received tenure or continuing status within the 
last six years.

One-time awards of $10,000 may be made for up to three candidates 
throughout the UA.Full details are available at:

CALS will be permitted to submit two nominees for consideration this 
year.To save us all time and energy, I am requesting that you send to me 
a CV for any faculty member you wish to nominate along with up to two 
paragraphs to substantiate your nomination.The Executive Council will 
then select two nominations for the college and request from you the 
additional materials required to complete the nomination.Please send 
your preliminary nomination materials to my office by 5:00 p.m. on 
Friday, February 1.
