[Arid_gardener] Arizona Lawn

Hello,

After reading many of the questions and responses on the Master Gardener page, I feel my question may be rudimentary.  Being from the midwest, I am accustomed to thick, soft lawns.  Is that possible here in Arizona and what are the best grass types to sew for a great lawn in Phoenix?  Needless to say, I am inexperienced in caring for outdoor plants and grass in the Southwest.  Watering tips and sprinkler type recommendations are also very welcome.

Any information or information sources are GREATLY appreciated.
