The Western Center for Risk Management Education (Western Center), in
conjunction with the Northeast, North Central and Southern Centers
announce a funding opportunity for projects that help farm and ranch
families succeed through targeted risk management strategies.
Awards will fund projects conducted between July 1, 2012 and June 30,
2013. Grant awards are generally between $5,000 and $50,000, however
there is no absolute upper or lower limit on the funds provided to a
single project.<br><br>
<b>Application Process: </b> Go to the
<a href="http://www.westrme.wsu.edu/">Western Center</a> website and
select “<a href="http://westrme.wsu.edu/grants-program/">Competitive
Grants Program</a>”. The two-stage <u>online</u> grants application
process (Pre-Proposal and Full Proposal application) is fully explained
in the Western Center's 2012 Request for Applications (RFA). The RFA is
the <b>binding</b> document on application instructions. It is very
important that you read and follow all of the instructions in the
RFA. Applicants who view, read and follow the instructions
provided in the RFA and the
<a href="http://www.agrisk.umn.edu/verification/media.htm">Proposal
Resources</a> will have a far greater chance of success in
receiving funds from the Western Center.<br><br>
<b>Eligibility: </b>We seek applications from qualified private and
public groups, organizations and institutions with a demonstrated
capacity to develop, carry out and manage educational projects that
deliver <u>targeted risk management results</u> for agricultural
producers and their families. All organizations serving agricultural
producers, especially those serving the special emphasis audiences
identified on page 1 of the RFA, are strongly encouraged to apply. The
Western Center serves Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii,
Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and
the U.S. affiliated Pacific Islands.<br><br>

Two trainings for writing a successful application will be conducted via
the web on Thursday November 10, 2011 at 9AM and Wednesday November 16,
2011 at 1PM PST. To register, email
