The National Association of County Agriculture Agents (NACAA) held their annual conference last week. Congratulations to the award winners from Arizona.
1. Achievement Award
* Juan Arias (FRTEP Agent) has produced award-winning programs for San Carlos Apache youth, adults, and ranchers/farmers in youth development, agriculture, equine/livestock, and food sovereignty. He and a colleague created a Resource Guide (some in Apache language) to help ranchers incorporate biosecurity principles and proactively manage their animals’ health. He introduced youth and adults to growing traditional Apache crops and the use of drones, engaging the Apache community in their historical culture and 21st century technologies.
