Purpose:             The University of Arizona is hiring an Area Agent for Environment and Natural Resource & Animal Sciences.  This agent's primary responsibility will be to provide leadership in developing and conducting research-based educational programs in animal science, primarily livestock production, and range management with emphasis in Gila and Pinal Counties. Three candidates for that position will deliver presentations focusing on their qualifications and how those qualifications fit local needs.  The seminar will focus on planning or implementing natural resource educational programs which complement range livestock production. A major programming effort is in administering the federally funded Reading the Range, rangeland monitoring program which is in place on over one million acres on the Tonto National Forest.

Outcome:           The desired outcome is to identify and hire the candidate with the best understanding of local needs, priorities, and culture who can provide the science, research, and education necessary for range management in the long term in Gila and Pinal Counties.



All interested members of the public are invited to attend and there is no charge. There will be a question and answer session following each presentation.
