Cooperative Extension colleagues,

2014 Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) dollars
are now available for our use. Currently there are 7 travel
scholarships for up to $800 per trip to help defray travel expenses
to attend and participate in a sustainable agriculture related
conference or seminar. Examples might include the Organic
Agriculture conference in New Mexico, the EcoFarm Conference in
California, and the sustainable agriculture sessions at the NACAA
conference this summer in Alabama. These are only examples. You
might have another idea that would fit the requirements posed by the
SARE program. These slots will go fast so be sure and reply quickly
to get an application and hold your travel slot.

Also, new this year are funds set aside to help do up to 6
sustainable agriculture seminars or conferences here in Arizona
during 2014. The funds can be used to help defray meeting expenses
and to pay travel for Cooperative Extension faculty and staff to
attend. One of the 6 needs to be a grant writing workshop and one
needs to focus on how to work with non governmental
organizations. The others are open for discussion and review. If
you are interested in helping sponsor one of these seminars, let me know.
