New name: The Fairness Council

[Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, and Cooperative Extension Weekly Bulletin]

Dear Colleagues,

Despite what Shakespeare wrote about a rose, names are an important part of identity and connection. This is no less important for an organization.

After months of discussion with colleagues, listening, thought, and ranking, the ALVSCE DEI Council is changing its name to The Fairness Council. Out of the dozens of names considered, we believe that this reflects our work to create an organization that welcomes everyone, provides resources and opportunities for personal growth, and attempts to help ALVSCE to be a fair organization.

We will be updating our website and names of our awards to reflect this change in the months ahead. We are also planning workshops, socials, and resources for the new year. More soon.
