Good afternoon – a gentle reminder that you have TWO more days to submit nominations to this very important committee (and remember, self-nominations are encouraged!).

Though we encourage nominations from all groups (faculty, staff, students…), we are in particular need of stakeholder nominations. These do not have to be external to the University; this position we are recruiting interacts closely with Bio5, Tech Launch, and  other UA research-focused entities – so if you know of anyone, please forward their names/contact information.

Good afternoon, ALVSCE professionals,

Dean Shane Burgess has asked me to proceed with assembling a strong committee that will be charged with recruiting our new ALVSCE AVP for Research/CALES AD for Research. Thus, with this email I am opening up the nomination process.

Through August 25, 2023 I will be accepting nominations (including self-nominations!) for faculty (all ranks, all tracks), staff, students (graduate, undergraduate), and stakeholders to serve on the Search Committee. AD Mike Staten has agreed to chair the committee, which will work through fall 2023 a focus of having someone in position by January 1, 2024.

Please send me the following by next Friday:

            Name and Email Addresses of one, or a few, or SEVERAL nominees
            College and School/Department
            Position (e.g., faculty, staff)
                        If student, please note if they are graduate or undergraduate
                        If stakeholder, please identify their role/impact on ALVSCE research

It would be helpful to notify your nominees to ensure that they are willing to serve.

I know that we are all extremely busy at this beginning of the semester, but PLEASE don’t ignore this email. This is a GREAT opportunity to participate in the shared governance process
and have an impact on the future of ALVSCE!
