Actions taken to make ALVSCE inclusive and welcoming

[Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, and Cooperative Extension Weekly Bulletin]

Dear Colleagues,

In October, I asked each unit leader to provide their top actions and events that demonstrate a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).  An inventory of the responses is available on the DEI website<https://compass.arizona.edu/diversity-inclusion> under the Inclusive Excellence Action Plan tile, or a direct link is here<https://arizona.box.com/s/0y727o4p851ohcq6g896igo3vf60hwkm>.  The examples they have shared show a breadth of effort across all parts of ALVSCE.  I encourage you to review both your own unit's DEI highlights and scan other units for ideas that could be adopted within your unit.

This inventory is a reminder that DEI is broad-based, including lived experiences, languages, cultural events and heritage, neurotypical/neurodivergent, veteran status, as well as race, nationality, disability, gender and identity, sexual orientation, and so much more.

DEI is an organizational growth journey that we are by no means done with. But this inventory is a helpful reminder to celebrate the tremendous work being done to make ALVSCE a more inclusive and welcoming organization.
