May 6 Business Retreat Information

These retreats began in 2015 and now occur twice per year.

Retreats are an important part of budget transparency, building financial literacy among decision makers, and soliciting feedback and discussing important business issues.  Those motivated to learn about business in higher education must be as intentional with their learning as teachers are in translating and making the knowledge understandable.

What's next over the summer?

  1.  We discussed that there is a gap between our core costs and fall/spring revenues and must now develop a fair way to incentivize mission growth while utilizing all funds revenues to cover our core costs.
  2.  Mike Staten and Janis Rutherford will work with academic unit leaders on a review of student program and course fees, student outcomes, unit subsidization, outdated fees, and opportunities to improve instructional quality.
