As a monthly reminder, please see the attached letter regarding the University of Arizona's Conflict of Commitment and Conflict of Interest policies.  In addition, there was an email distributed on 1/12/2021 from Betsy Cantwell announcing the upcoming launch of two new systems designed to make your work related to Conflict of Interest (COI) matters and the Human Subjects Protection Program (HSSP) much easier.  That email is attached and pasted below.

Dear University of Arizona faculty, researchers, staff, and students:

I am pleased to announce the upcoming launch of two new systems designed to make your work related to Conflict of Interest (COI) matters and the Human Subjects Protection Program (HSSP) much easier. Both are scheduled to rollout this summer, so please check your email inboxes in the coming weeks and months for information about training sessions and transitioning to the new systems.

Under the COI program, the new eDisclosure system will provide the University community with a single point of disclosure, combining existing forms into a single smartform. This smartform uses progressive fields to populate relevant questions that are based on your answers, ultimately reducing the administrative burden created by the multiple forms currently used.  eDisclosure will combine the following disclosures and activities:

  *   Conflict of interest disclosure forms
  *   Requests for outside employment and professional commitments (COC Forms)
  *   Investigational new drug/device disclosures (IND/IDE Worksheets)
  *   Intellectual property transfers (Enabling Disclosure Worksheets)

Additionally, HSPP will implement a new electronic IRB system (eIRB). With this platform, researchers will submit and manage their human subject protocols directly through the eIRB. We expect this new system will increase productivity and provide researchers with a greater level of transparency during IRB reviews.
