Furlough impacts due to SLT exemptions

[Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, and Cooperative Extension Weekly Bulletin]

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the August 26 decision by the President, Provost, and CFO to exempt Cooperative Extension and 50% of Experiment Station funding from the Furlough-based Salary Program, many faculty and staff within ALVSCE will "flip" to the Furlough Program effective with the pay period beginning August 24th.

Compared to the salary reduction program, being in the Furlough Program means you'll take home a larger portion of your annual salary.  The exempted portion of pay reduces the number of furlough days a faculty or staff member would otherwise be required to take.  For instance, someone on 100% Cooperative Extension funding would have zero furlough days and take home 100% of their annual pay.

UArizona Human Resources will shortly send a blast email to all faculty and staff.  This message is intended for a broad university audience and does not include the exemptions of Cooperative Extension and Experiment Station funding.

Please monitor your UAccess Employee<https://employee851.uaccess.arizona.edu/psc/uazhrprd/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/NUI_FRAMEWORK.PT_LANDINGPAGE.GBL> "Pay Reduction Tracking" tile to ensure it accurately reflects the flip to the furlough program and the correct calculation of furlough hours. HR's corrections to these tiles will be complete by September 7.  Your unit's business officer can assist you if you have questions.
