<p class="xmsonormal" style="orphans:auto;widows:auto"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">As the pandemic continues to impact lives, we have been planning for ways to support students through the admissions and enrollment process - particularly
rural, low income and BIPOC students. Requiring standardized test scores to earn admission and/or scholarships is one area we can control in support of students who cannot test due to a variety of circumstances ranging from: cancelled tests, limited school
day testing, fewer test sites creating extensive travel, limited number of spots available per testing day and more.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="xmsonormal" style="orphans:auto;widows:auto"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="xmsonormal" style="orphans:auto;widows:auto"><b><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black;background:yellow">The University of Arizona, and the specific academic colleges that use test scores for admission,* will suspend the use of
those test scores (ACT/SAT) for admission consideration and for merit scholarships for the entering class of summer/fall 2021. Merit scholarships for domestic, first-year students will be based on Core GPA**</span></b><b><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">.<span class="xapple-converted-space"> </span></span></b><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">The
updated <b><a href="https://financialaid.arizona.edu/types-of-aid/scholarships/incoming-transfer">scholarship grid</a></b> is now posted on the OSFA website. Other awards, like Dean’s Exemplary and National Scholar Awards, etc. will remain unchanged.

policy. We will continue to be considered “test-optional” (rather than “test-blind”) for admission purposes as this will allow us to use test scores when helpful to a student (i.e. clearing a course deficiency), but a
<b>test score will not be required for admission or institutional merit aid</b>.<span class="xapple-converted-space"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
