<h3><b>Pass/fail process available in UAccess Student Center</b></h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">The self-service ability for students  to update  their Spring 2020 classes to the special Pass/Fail grading basis is ready and available to students. To assist students a

<li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left:.25in">No. This option is at the discretion of the student. Some students may want and/or need to complete a course with a regular grade.

<li class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left:.25in">Due to a number of issues unique to the law school, including mandatory curving and rankings, students in the JD program will have mandatory Pass/Fail grading.  Like the rest of the Special Spring 2020
 Pass/Fail grading basis, a “Pass” grade will satisfy all program requirements. JD students should contact Mike Brooks

No.  If a course that has transitioned to remote would like to not hold a synchronous final, the faculty should follow the approved policy for Online Final exams: “Instructors of fully-online classes are required to specify in the syllabus when—during the official
 final exam period—they will hold their final exam or by what date and time students are required to submit their summative assessment.”</li></ol>

<h3>Summer Classes – Remote Modality</h3>

<p class="MsoNormal">Since last week’s announcement - that domestic campus Summer 2020 classes that begin before July 1, 2020 will not be held on campus - we have had several questions on how this will work.  To enable the best possible learning experience
 and recognize this as different than the traditional fully online course, a new instructional modality has been created - Remote.  This temporary instructional modality joins the existing modalities of In-Person, Hybrid, and Online.

<p class="MsoNormal">A few notes on the Remote instructional modality: </p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style=""><b>It is intended to be used for those classes that were previously scheduled to meet on campus in-person or hybrid modality. 
</b></li><ol start="1" type="a" style="margin-top:0in">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">It should not be used for courses that were planned to be offered online as iCourses.</li></ol>
<li class="MsoNormal" style=""><b>You can determine if there is a meeting pattern for the class.</b></li><ol start="1" type="a" style="margin-top:0in">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">This will<b> allow synchronous</b> meetings for students and faculty, if needed.</li></ol>
