<span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Tuesday, November 27<sup>th</sup> marked a significant occasion in CALS’ continued efforts to engage with the greater Tucson community and provide unique experiential learning opportunities for our students. As many
of you may have seen or heard through the media, CALS and the Rillito Park Foundation(RPF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a partnership that will create
<b>more than 30 paid internships for CALS students</b>; the internships will encompass all functions of the RPF including the farmers market, special events, and horse racing operations. This program will increase the number of local opportunities for students
and make it possible for students to develop hands-on skills during the semester.

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Internships will not be limited to working with the Horse Racing operation but will also include opportunities with the farmers market, sustainability, management, retailing, hospitality, food & beverage service, veterinary
care, animal training, grooming, broadcasting, handicapping, video production, simulcasting, public and community relations, event management, entertainment, marketing, advertising, social media, publishing, sponsorship, sales, operations, security, parking,
admissions and more. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">In this case it was important to formalize the partnership to maximize the number of opportunities available for our students. The other advantage of this arrangement is it will not require financial contributions
from CALS. We will provide assistance with promoting internships, space in the CALS Career Center for interviews to take place, and expertise on how to structure internships that are mutually beneficial. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
