<p class="MsoNormal">Hello Advisors: You may know that I’m the new advisor for the CALS Ambassador program. One goal I have for the program is for the membership to be a true representation of all CALS majors; I’m looking toward our 2018 member recruitment
cycle to reach that goal. Until that time, I asked all 19 members – 7 of them being new to the program just this semester (1-7 on the list below) – to “adopt” a CALS major, or two, that is<i> not</i> their declared major. The thinking behind this is that Ambassadors
will proactively learn about all CALS majors from the perspective of a prospective student. They’ll accomplish this by completing any/all major info you already have available (e.g. online training, website search, etc), meeting with you, talking with your
department faculty, and connecting to your undergraduate students. I see this as an ongoing learning process, not a one-time effort.
