<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">is designed to allow participants to develop advanced skills in building rapport and individual coaching. Peer mentors utilize leadership, communication, problem solving and critical
thinking skills, as well as relationship skills to assist CALS students with the adjustment required for a successful transition to the University. Peer Mentors receive on-going training and coaching by attending weekly meetings. Mentors learn to provide support,
information and guidance to their student mentees with the goal of better preparing them to be academically and developmentally successful.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

· Must be available for training on: <b>Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 9am-4pm</b><br>
· Complete program requirements to earn 3 units of CALS 393/493 (UA engagement experience/internship)<br>
· Serve as a peer mentor to 7-15 student mentees per semester<br>
· Attend all CALS 195A class times for one of the sections throughout Spring term (details on application)<br>
· Be knowledgeable of campus resources and help students transition into the University (training provided)<br>
· Provide a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for students to learn<br>
