<p class="MsoNormal">I’m contacting you about a time-sensitive opportunity to create more effective ways to teach science in a way that retains undergraduates in STEM at UA. The opportunity is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute-funded program called Inclusive
Excellence (see attached overview of the program). Briefly, it would provide five years of funding to help UA build its capacity to effectively engage students in science throughout their undergraduate years, especially those who come to college via nontraditional
pathways. To be a successful applicant, we need to propose new ways of learning that will result in sustained institutional improvement in STEM retention.
