<p class="MsoNormal">The University is launching an Engagement Scholars program – as a retention initiative – targeting first-time full-time freshman who fall in the “murky middle” (as identified through Civitas data). Through a series of planned workshops,
mandatory meetings, career exploration, etc, the goal is for students to develop and implement a personalized experiential learning plan for their remaining years at the UA. I’ve attached a program summary for your reference.

<p class="MsoNormal">Of the initial 1,000 students invited to apply for the program, 41 are CALS students – 17 in ACBS, 16 in Norton, 6 in Nutritional Sciences, one each in SWES and NMS. In addition to communication they’re receiving from the Office of Student
Engagement, I’ll also be reaching out to these students and encouraging them to apply.
