<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">As the number of international students continues to grow in the U.S., university classrooms are becoming even more diverse and challenging. Most people have heard that CESL prepares international
students in English proficiency and academic skills so that they can be admitted to the University of Arizona. What most people around campus don’t know is that CESL also offers classes for international students who are already admitted to the university.
The Evening Program offers classes two days a week from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for a total of 30 hours of instruction in eight-week sessions. Our sessions for the next academic year are:<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">The classes that we offer specifically for international students already taking classes at the UA are: English for Academic Purposes (focused on academic writing), Pronunciation (focused
on oral accuracy), and Conversation (focused on oral fluency). The cost of each class for UA Affiliates (which includes students, scholars or members of the staff and faculty, and their direct relatives) is $284, which includes tuition, application fee, and
technology fee. The deadline to apply is usually at the end of the first week of classes. In the case of the Fall 1 session, it is Thursday, August 27<sup>th</sup>.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">In addition to attending the Evening Program, students can be part-time students in the Intensive English Program (IEP) where they can take classes such as Written Communication, Oral Communication,
Reading and/or Grammar. These classes are offered during the day and follow the same academic calendar provided above. Many international students are particularly interested in advanced Grammar classes, which are offered 3 days a week.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">Another option for international students is Tutoring at CESL. In that case, they will be assigned a tutor and meet at the time and place that is best for them. They will receive individualized
instruction in the area of their choice (pronunciation, grammar, writing, etc.). Tutoring works best for students with higher English proficiency who need a little help in a particular issue, since it is more expensive that classes at around $550 for 10 hours
of instruction.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="color:black">We would greatly appreciate if you let your department faculty know of the several options available at CESL for international students, as well as scholars and staff members. We can provide
