<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">The Center for Middle Eastern Studies offers a
<b>Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies</b> to UA undergraduate students. Please share the following information with your students so they can make plans to take the appropriate courses.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">* Requires completion of 18 credit hours from a list of eligible courses<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">* 9 credits must be non-language courses<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">* Minimum GPA of 2.5 (for the eligible courses only)<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">* Useful for students in any major (Students with a major or minor in Middle Eastern & North African Studies are not eligible)<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">To apply for a certificate, students need to fill out and submit the attached application (also available on the website below) in their
<b>final semester or after graduation</b>. A list of eligible courses and more information can be found at

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal">This is not an official university-approved certificate and will not be noted on transcripts. That being said, earning a Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, a U.S.
Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center, and one of only 15 in the country focused on the Middle East and North Africa, is a notable achievement that a student can add to her/his resume or CV.<o:p></o:p></p>
