<strong>STEM Project SOAR (HED 397B Section 3): </strong>STEM major undergraduate students will act as experts in their STEM field to mentor their STEM interested middle school mentee. In addition to the traditional curriculum of Project SOAR, the STEM undergraduates will learn STEM and Possible Selves activities to administer with their middle school mentee. Possible Selves is composed of three forms:</span></span><br>

Hosted by the University of Arizona Cultural Centers, the 2015 UA Alternative Spring Break in Northern Arizona will help students gain insight about the Navajo and Hopi cultures and traditional ways of life through delivering significant and direct service to both communities. Students will be engaged in multiple cultural experiences as well as service learning projects throughout multiple cities in Northern Arizona, which include Tuba City and Chinle. Service learning experiences include but are not limited to: renovating community-wide facilities, assisting elders at the senior community center, mentoring youth, performing farm duties, and preparing for and participating in traditional blessing ceremonies. These experiences are geared to provide knowledge on social issues and give insight about traditional and contemporary views of Native American communities. Student participants also have the opportunity to earn 1 upper-division credit through LAS.<br>
